Rating Breakdown
Great tires winter and Summer
I tell everyone I know - I have replaced the original tires (when they wore out) on both my new 2018 Ram 1500 and my new 2016 Subaru Forester with Toyo Celsius tires. I live in South-eastern Ontario Canada and have found the tires are great for my year-round driving. I have plowed into some pretty heavy snow and had no trouble. The BIG SAVING IS THAT I DON' T HAVE TO BUY THOSE UGLY BLACK RIMS (THAT RUST IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS) AND I DON'T HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE "SNOW TIRES" INSTALLED IN FALL AND REMEOVED IN SPRING. I don't know why everyone doesn't use ALL WEATHER TIRES .... I haven't used brands other than Toyo, so I can't compare, but Toyo are rated high, they work well, I'm staying with them!
Thanks for sharing "Ramo 69". The Celsius, and now the Celsius II tires, are definitely a tire option worth considering for people living in areas that experience moderate winter conditions.
Lack of Product Information
The accepted principle in selling a product transparency is expected - yet on this product line there is no information on how to identify if the tire product is Summer / All Season / Winter. A lack of transparency is not appropriate in this instance.
Thank you for your feedback "1719". Our Celsius group of tires are all-weather tires which positions them between an all-season tire and a winter tire. Unlike traditional all-season, summer, and winter tires that require seasonal change-overs an all-weather tire can be used 12 months of the year in areas that experience moderate winter conditions. The Celsius group of tires provides longer treadwear and improved warm weather handling compared to a dedicated winter tire and better cold weather traction then a summer or all season tire. While our Celsius family of all-weather tires has the mountain snowflake symbol indicating that it has met the standard for a cold weather tire we, again, recommend that it be used in areas that have moderate or mild winters such as the metro-Vancouver area. For regions that experience more severe winter conditions such as the Canadian prairies or eastern Canada we strongly recommend drivers switch to a dedicated winter tire such as our Observe GSi-6 or Observe G3-Ice.
Just a bad Tire
I bought these tires at the end of 2021 and I work from home. Now, not even 40 thousand KM's later these tires are just about bald. No warranty no help from Toyo. Now I have to buy new tires again and trust me they will not be Toyos. Never again will I throw money in the garbage like that ever again!
Hi Caroline, there is a mileage warranty on the Celsius line of tires. Please return to the dealer where you purchased the tire to review the reasons for the premature wear. If in fact it is not a mechanical issue then they should be able to take care of you per the warranty guidelines. If this is not satisfactory please visit the "contact us" page on this web site to speak to a customer service representative.
Okay in dry and snow, very sloppy in rain
I have these on an all wheel drive Tesla Model 3. They're less than 5 years old and have less than 30,000 km on them since I swap to my OEM tires in the spring & summer. When I'm taking a gentle turn ( like a sharp merge lane or left turn lane) at speed in the rain they sometimes feel like they flexing. It's a weird mushy feeling I haven't experienced before. They also hydroplane in the rain a little if I'm braking over a manhole. Maybe it's the weight of the car but they have an XL rating just like my OEM tires. Other than that they are fine in dry and much better than my OEM tires in the wet snow of the Pacific Northwest.
Than you for the review "Foamer". To address your concern regarding hydroplaning when stopping on manhole covers it’s important to note that the Celsius tire is designed to provide traction and braking on textured paved road surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or similar surfaces. Smooth, wet metal surfaces such as utility/manhole covers lack this surface texture which adversely impacts the level of grip with a tire regardless of brand. With regards to your comment regarding "flexing" It's important to note that the original tire that comeswith the Tesla 3. is a performance touring tire while the Celsius is an all-weather tire. Among the differences in these two types of tires is the increased siping found in all-weather tires which assists in providing grip in cold weather conditions unfortunately the trade-off for this increased siping is a tire that is a little "softer" in in terms of performance, especially turns.
Toyo Celsius all weather in name only
Bought toyo Celsius tires for 2021 crv last spring due to recommendation from shop. For the record I do a tremendous amount of highway driving in mild to extreme winter conditions. I have been driving highway 63 in northern alberta every week for 20 plus years and have tried out Many brands. I find these tires to be terrible on ice, slush and snow. I have very little confidence in the handling and braking of these tires in any condition. In fact I would rate some all seasons better in stopping. Even low speed driving around the city results in poor stops and my crv sliding around. They are equivalent to driving on frozen hockey pucks no joke. Also these tires are expensive compared to other superior tires. My advice would be save the exorbitant price tag on these and go by some nokians which are night and day difference.
great tires
great tires for all year round, good dry traction, great handling in snow, quiet ride, don't have to deal with tire changeovers twice a year, I'm very happy I got these tires!! I just got them a month ago so I can't make an accurate treadwear rating.
Great tire in all conditions!!
This product has great value and performance. Highly recommend if you can find them.
Thanks "mrobinson@bigrockmotorspo
Great tires
I have a 2009 accent and live in Saskatchewan hehe do not like changing tires at all- these Celsius toyo tires perform nicely for casual driving- only experienced them through one Saskatchewan winter and looking forward to the performance in the spring slush and gritty roads hehe overall I’m pleased to have toyo tires
Thanks for the feedback "Manik". Another option for people living in areas with colder winters and higher snow accumulation is our Observe line of dedicated winter tires.
Amazing handling on snow and ice
I bought these for a 2016 VW Beetle instead of buying winter tires. Well it was a sheet of ice out there yesterday with many cars going into the ditch and I didn’t even slide around. So … yes these tires are incredible. On the expensive side but well worth it.
Thanks for sharing "JoJo
Great tires
I have an older Subaru Forester, 2002. These tires are great. I got tired of switching from winters to summers so I picked these up. Following week I was sent on a service call in the middle of nowhere in blizzard like conditions. With AWD, a rear LSD and these tires the trip was almost boring. Great traction even when pushing snow half way up doors on unplowed roads. Yes I will buy again when I need tires. Please don't change em!
Great choice
Took a chance on these and they're amazing performers. We have to take on snow for about a month and the rest is rain and I couldn't be happier with the handling. Our first drive was from Vancouver to northeastern Alberta and back late Dec/early Jan just after they were installed. I can't recall a second of that drive where I wasn't in control even on snow packed mountain passes. Nothing is bulletproof, but I'm impressed with the Celsius all season/M&S. You have us hooked! I'm shopping right now for our second vehicle. Cheers, drive safe!
Thanks "Ev". We just wanted to point out the Celsius family of tires are "all weather" and approved for winter use and not "all season" tires which lack the mountain snowflake symbol for cold weather use. Here's for many more safe travels!
Worth the purchase!
I drive 5 days per week, 1hour and 20 minutes for work. I am very pleased with my purchase. The tires made a noticeable difference in how my car felt. I feel safe driving in the Niagara winters, in which I do a lot of highway driving. I wound highly recommend these all season tires!
Thanks for the feedback Anna!
Great wet weather performance
This was the top recommended tire in my research and I'm very happy that I went with them. I drive coastal mountain roads in all weather and all times of day and night. They have performed exceptionally well in the heavy west coast rain. I'm looking forward to how they will perform in the snow this winter. They produce slightly more road noise, but it is negligible.
Great Tires
Have used CUV tires on my current and previous SUVs. As a skier I am in snow country every week. They are very good tires and ones that can be relied on with sensible driving.
Very happy!
Really am super happy with my new tires! Feel much safer driving on windy roads to get home ecspecially where we live. We get lots of coastal rain, wind and snow can hit! These tires feel much better on the road ecspecially where water pools and tight corners! Highly recommend and willl ne my go to tires in the future as well.
these tires are great performers!!
All my driving is on and off the highway going anywhere. These tires are extremely nice to drive on. This will be my first winter with them and looking forward to seeing how they do in our endless rains on the wet West Coast and snow. The first thing I noticed was how quiet they are when highway driving. This tire was recommended to me and I am so glad that I got them.
Great product, great performance....
I had my first set on a Forester for 5 years and sold them with the vehicle.... The new set is on a Honda HRV and are just as exceptional. No more tire changes for 6 plus years now. At about $ 100 per tire changeover the tires paid for themselves in 5 years. Quiet, comfortable & reliable....
Great on all our vehicles
Tried it on our Mercedes-Benz; 2012 GLK350, 2014 B250, 2015 B250 and 2020 GLC300. Great performance. no hassle of switching and storing. I just rotate once a year or every oil change.
Excellent
Excellent à Montréal et les environs où les rues sont bien déneigées
