Rating Breakdown
Decent tire
Had on for 14 months now had to rotate a while ago at 6500km due to rapid wear on the rears. Good tire overall but tread is wearing much quicker than expected.
Thanks for the feedback "PDOR". The wear issues that you referenced can be caused by a number of factors. Your place of purchase should be able to help identify the cause and possible remedies.
Great tires, I’m on the website today looking for a local dealer so I can buy another set.
I put a set of 40/13.50R17 Toyo Open Country’s on my H2 Hummer. I use this truck as a daily driver and an overland weekend warrior. Finding a tire that performs well on and off road isn’t always easy. I have been very happy with the all round performance of my Toyo’s. I will be buying another set and I highly recommend them.
Thanks for sharing "Overland Hummer" The Open Country M/T and Hummer H2 are a perfect combination.
Best all around mud tire I have purchased
Lasted 130000 km which is absolutely by far the best I have ever had on a mud terrain. 2001 chev Silverado I have had since new , unfortunately with crazy price increase and apparently not available in 285 76 16 no longer available . It’s a shame but almost 3000 for tires is ridiculous. Last set of 5 was 1500 so double won’t wash . All around usage was fantastic and pretty quiet for mud terrains and snow and ice performance was better than expected but alas I suppose I’ll have to try something else
Thanks for the feedback Jeff. Unfortunately, the price increase that you mention is a result of higher prices that we're faced with for raw materials and transportation in bringing the Open Country M/T to market. We're all hoping prices stabilize soon.
#1
Absolute pinnacle of off-road and on road performance and they make any vehicle look good just got them drilled studded and sipped for winter highly recommend if live in snowy icy areas
A GX470 and Toyo M/T's, that's a nice combination! Thanks for sharing "Lorenzo".
Very good tires
Purchased these for a lifted and leveled Tacoma. Extremely good performance. Was worried about noise level before buying, however noise was not bad. Would recommend for anyone where regular road tires don't cut it, and this includes deep snow. One caveat though, I would not recommend on polished ice roads.
Thanks for the feedback! Our Open Country M/T tires are among the quietest mud tires on the market.
What happened to my tires??
Bought a set of 35x12.50r18 from my local integra tire, loved them in the mud. installed them when the snow melted and drove them 5000km on the highway. And now they don't have enough tread to get me through the summer. I can't belive they wore out that fast. Don't buy these tires!
An inspection performed by an independant tire dealer found no irregular or premature wear on the tires. In addition, a possible alignment issue was noted on the Jeep the tires were mounted on.
Won't be buying again
Not impressed with these tires. 2-1/2 years after I bought them (mfg 5 years and 3 months ago) with about 40-50,000 kms and I've lost two tires from leaks from weather cracking. Not even worn past the wear marks. Did perform well in everything but winter conditions. Will not be buying toyo truck tires again.

I’m ready for my 3rd set in 9 years and I daily drive it..
I’m ready and exited to buy my 3rd set of the MT 38x15.5.. I run them on my wrangler All year long, I’m cautious in the winter but who’s not, I got 90,000 ish km per set and these tires are both reliable and superior off road traction, I run them at 8-9 psi off road, crazy strong sidewalls they clean out at low speed and let’s face it they look freekin great too..can’t wait to smell the new rubber
Fantastic tires
Daily driving they are quiet and smooth, off-roading they are fantastic grabbers! Running at 13psi off road I have never had an issue!
