RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA– Toyo Tire Canada, Inc. has formed a new partnership with the University of British Columbia Sports Car Club (UBCSCC). The UBCSCC is a motorsports enthusiast club that has been organizing and promoting sanctioned racing events for more than 50 years.
The UBCSCC has scheduled race events that run throughout the summer at both the BC Driver’s Centre and Mission Raceway. The sponsorship agreement includes Toyo sponsored solosprint and autoslalom events. The R888 complements solosprint events because racers are able to take a few laps to bring the tire to its optimum operating temperature which is when the tire performs best. It’s also a viable alternative for autoslalom racers that prefer a durable and longer lasting R-compound tire.
The sponsorship provides UBCSCC members with access to the PROXES R888 through the Team Toyo Racing program. The PROXES R888 was developed with an enhanced casing design and aggressive tread pattern providing racers with much needed traction and control in both wet and dry conditions.
