RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA –Toyo Tire Canada, Inc. introduces the Open Country®WLT1, a light truck winter tire capable for use in commercial applications. The WLT1’s heavy duty construction design and new tread pattern enable users to carry heavier loads while maneuvering through winter road conditions.
The WLT1 has similar features in construction and design as a commercial light truck tire. All sizes are LT metric with a 10 ply rating, giving it the ability to handle heavier loads. It has a wider tread footprint that helps disperse the weight of heavy loads evenly across the tire, as well as a deeper tread depth to ensure longer lasting treadwear.
Enhanced performance in a variety of winter road conditions is achieved through an advanced tread pattern design. The Open Country WLT1 features wider and deeper grooves, with self cleaning tread pockets that provide better snow traction, even on untracked terrain. Increased sipe density improves water evacuation while longitudinally placed waved sipe improves cornering performance on ice. The WLT1 will be available in 16”-18” rim fitments.
