RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Toyo Tire Canada, Inc. returns as a sponsor of the Canadian Automobile Sports Club – Ontario Region (CASC-OR) for the second consecutive season. The CASC-OR is the sanctioning body for motorsports in Ontario in the disciplines of road racing, solosprint, autoslalom and ice racing. The agreement provides CASC-OR competitors with access to Toyo PROXES R-compound tires which they can use while competing in the Toyo Tires Championship.
As a part of the agreement, Toyo Tires and the CASC-OR have formed the Toyo Tires Championship which is a competition within the organization’s provincial championship in road racing, solosprint and autoslalom. In order to be eligible, all competitors are required to run either the Toyo PROXES R888 or RA1, and must purchase the tires through the Team Toyo Racing program.
PROXES R888 is a competition grade, DOT approved radial that caters well to a variety of skill levels because of its durable and predictable nature. The tire is a good fit for the organization because its membership consists of both racers new to the track as well as long-time enthusiasts. Having the Proxes R888 high performance tires available lets all our drivers compete knowing their tires have what it takes to get them in front." says Scott Ellsworth, president of the CASC-OR.
Toyo Tires is a major supporter of grass roots racing in Canada and partnering with the CASC-OR enables Toyo Tire Canada, Inc. to connect with members from the organization’s over 30 car clubs and racing organizations, which consists of over 3000 members in total.
