When and how did you get into racing?  In the spring of ’05 we were talked into competing at an event held by the Gear Centre Group and Can4wd. We got second place against trucks with tires up to “44.  Us with a little YJ on 37’s. We were hooked after that.

Most memorable moment in your career:  That’s a tough question, so I’ll say the latest most memorable moment would be travelling straight through to Las Vegas to race at Best in the Desert. I only knew half my pit crew before they picked my up 2 days before the race. We completed  all 300 miles in the desert, hitting speeds of up to 97 MPH on gravel roads and finished ahead of some pretty big names in our style of racing.

If you could have anyone as your co-driver for just one race, who would you pick and why:  I’ve driven with a lot of people in the passenger seat, but only competed with one. There is a certain chemistry that is required to be a good team. I need someone that is assertive and confident, but also won’t get too pissy if I don’t listen to their advice. That person also has to genuinely love riding shotgun as much as I love driving. I think my brother/current co-driver, Dave is as close to that as a human can get. That being said, I think I’d like to rip around the desert with someone like Ivan Stewart, in one of his trucks, just so I can get some insight into how those guys go 120 MPH through literally blinding dust.

Person Most Admired in your life:  That would have to be one of the biggest names in the rock racing world. Shannon Campbell. He not only is a regular guy that will talk to anyone, including us. But he has made a name for himself by his driving merits alone. Having some of the biggest sponsors wanting him to run their product and even getting into corporate sponsorship where none was before. I aspire to be like him. Respected and successful, but still humble and down to earth.

Hobbies Outside of Racing:  Racing isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s a lifestyle. Everything I do is affected by it. It’s a good thing my family likes the competitions, for the most part. Plus so far my Work understands my need for time off.

Favorite Daily Driver:  ’92 YJ, I’m taking the top off this weekend and it won’t go back on until mid September.  It needs more power but stops me from getting too many speeding tickets.
